Our Club
The University of Queensland ‘Red Lions’ Australian Football Club (UQAFC) was founded in 1956 and since then has boasted a bunch of highly talented and successful teams and supported the journeys of several elite footballers into their careers as professional athletes.
Though we are affiliated with UQ, you do not have to be a student at the University to play for UQAFC.
We have a rich tradition in both men's and women's football and we aim to provide all players, regardless of their level of experience, the opportunity to develop their skills through access to quality coaching, competitive opportunities and support services.
Currently, we have three men's and two women’s sides: in the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 we have both Seniors and Reserves teams who play on Saturdays, and QFA Division 3 who play on Friday nights. In the Bond University QAFLW we have both a Seniors and Reserves team.
Base Architecture Meadows
Our home ground is located at Base Architecture Meadows (UQ Playing Field 2).
We are located on the corner of Thynne Road and Sir William MacGregor Drive on The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.
